This guide supports faith communities to take simple, well-judged actions for biodiversity on their grounds, in ways that respect the natural, built and cultural heritage of each place. 

It was developed by the Heritage Council in partnership with faith communities and builds on existing biodiversity guidance from organisations including the National Biodiversity Data Centre, An Taisce, BirdWatch Ireland and Clare County Council.

The Heritage Council has published "Guidelines for Local Biodiversity Action Plans (LBAPs)" as a resource for Local Authorities in developing and implementing their biodiversity strategies.

The guide sets out a standard scheme for identifying, describing and classifying wildlife habitats in ireland.

Taking a very practical approach, the book details projects to help wildlife of all kinds under a range of headings, with tasks suitable for everyone from the total beginner to the more ambitious DIY enthusiast.
